As a Massage therapist at The Cafe’ of Life Chiropractic and Massage Studio, I get a lot of questions. One of the most common ones is “Do you think I need chiropractic or massage?” This is a question I get often when it comes to back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica and tingling in the arms or legs.
Though the answer is not as simple as the question, in most cases I would say the only way to really know is by experience. BUT if you start with a thorough evaluation by our Longmont chiropractor, Dr. Jessica Thompson, you can save money AND the guess work as she will give you her opinion as to which therapy, if either or both , is appropriate for you. Your evaluation at the Cafe of Life is unique because you are being evaluated by both a chiropractor and a massage therapist and we work together to help make the best recommendation for you.
Each person’s body is unique so sometimes we recommend chiropractic alone and sometimes we recommend massage alone. Sometimes we recommend having a massage first followed by an adjustment right after. Sometimes it’s chiropractic first THEN massage. We ask that you take inventory of your body after your treatments and determine what makes your body feel best.
From my perspective as a massage therapist, both chiropractic and massage are vitally important to the health of your spine and body, as your muscles are connected to your spine and both need to be healthy for optimal functioning of your body. I can always tell the difference between those that I work on who get regular adjustments as opposed to those who do not. In addition, when it comes to car accidents and injuries that follow, I always see faster recovery in those who receive both chiropractic and massage treatment as opposed to those who only receive one or the other.
